Program Office
The developmen
t and evolution of the Program Office are closely intertwined with the historical trajectory of the university. Since the establishment of the institution in 1962, its initial functions were carried out under the name “Academic Affairs Office.” During this period, individuals such as Ts. Uderpil and P. Byambadorj served as academic coordinators responsible for curriculum policy and course organization, while B. Erdenechimeg and Ts. Jigmed were appointed as heads of the office, making significant contributions to the systematic and sustainable development of academic operations.
In response to changing societal demands and higher education reform policies, the functions of the Academic Affairs Office gradually expanded. With the growing need to introduce program-based management and quality assurance systems, the unit evolved into the present Program Office. As part of this transformation, a comprehensive structure was established to manage curriculum design, planning, implementation, and evaluation, thereby aligning with contemporary trends in university management.
The Program Office has been led by L. Altansuvd (2014–2021), Sh. Tserennadmid (2021–2023), and D. Tuyaa (2023–2026), all of whom played key roles in advancing curriculum reform, strengthening quality assurance, and promoting accreditation processes. Since 2026, the office has been headed by B. Turtogtokh. Currently, the Program Office operates with a team that includes specialists T. Uranchimeg and M. Byambakhishig, along with student services methodologist M. Maralmaa.
Under the leadership of these administrators, the Program Office has consistently implemented initiatives aimed at improving academic policies and aligning them with international standards. Its responsibilities encompass a wide range of functions, including organizing admissions and graduation processes, supporting student development, enhancing curriculum quality, conducting quality evaluations, and managing accreditation procedures.
Over more than half a century, the Program Office has successfully combined tradition with innovation, evolving into a key institutional unit that ensures the quality of university education, strengthens human resource capacity, and contributes meaningfully to the advancement of education.
