Under the Memorandum of Understanding between the School of Preschool Education of the Mongolian National University of Education (MNUE) and the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE), faculty members and administrators of the School participated in the K-ECEC BRIDGE PROGRAM: “Early Childhood Education and Care Policy in the Era of Climate Crisis”, an international certificate training program held in the Republic of Korea from 13–19 June 2026.
The program was designed to strengthen international cooperation and promote knowledge exchange on early childhood education and care (ECEC) policies in response to global climate change. During the training, researchers and scholars from KICCE delivered lectures on sustainable development, the global climate crisis, and its implications for the development and well-being of young children. They also introduced the Republic of Korea's policy responses, research findings, and exemplary practices in developing sustainable and child-friendly early childhood education and care systems.
As part of the program, participants visited several leading early childhood education and childcare institutions, including the Integrated Childcare Support Center, the Early Childhood Education Support Center, and public early childhood education institutions in the Republic of Korea. These visits provided valuable opportunities to observe innovative management practices, educational environments, and national policy implementation in practice, while facilitating mutual exchange of professional experiences.
At the closing ceremony, Dr. Lee Jae Hee, Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE), expressed sincere appreciation to the participants for traveling from Mongolia to join the program. Dr. Lee emphasized the importance of further strengthening institutional collaboration between the two organizations and extended congratulations to all participants upon the successful completion of the program by presenting them with international certificates.
Participation in this international training program has further strengthened the global engagement of the School of Preschool Education, enhanced the professional capacity of its faculty members, and contributed to the integration of sustainable development and climate-responsive perspectives into teaching, research, and academic collaboration. The program also marks another significant milestone in expanding the long-term partnership between the Mongolian National University of Education and the Korea Institute of Child Care and Education.
