Department of Child Development Studies
The Department of Child Development Studies is a newly established department, founded in January 2026. It is distinguished by its focus on organizing teaching and research activities centered on the holistic development of young children and related research studies.
The department is headed by Dr. (Ph.D.) B. Javzandulam. The academic staff includes Dr. (Ph.D.), Associate Professor L. Gantsetseg, O. Bolor, doctoral candidate D. Khajidmaa, and H. Jugdernamjil. Within the preschool teacher education program, the department delivers several compulsory courses, including Kindergarten Learning Environment, Methods of Studying Children, Action Research, Observation and Assessment of Child Development, Learning through Play, Children’s Literature and Reading, and Inclusive Education. In addition, it offers elective courses such as Preschool Education Management.
Each year, the department traditionally organizes a student research conference under the theme “Child Development and Formation”, in collaboration with the Educational Cooperation Society, involving undergraduate students. In the current academic year, the conference was held on April 10, 2026, where a total of 23 research presentations were successfully presented and discussed by more than 60 students majoring in preschool education.
